Susegad

Susegad is a Goan concept derived from the Portuguese word for quiet, "sossegado", and expresses the "relaxed attitude and enjoyment of life to the fullest" exemplified in the way Goans lead life. During my month-long stay in Chorão Island, Goa, India, there was an inclination to capture the beauty around me as I knew my time there was limited. Only after I returned from India did I realize that these photos not only shared their encapsulation of Goa's charming nature and people, but of Susegad, a belief so endeared by the people I was surrounded by. By showcasing this photo series, I hope these moments in time stand as a reminder to breathe and inhale the fullness of life.
